1. Satopanth Expedition – 7,075 m

Located in the Garhwal Himalayas, Satopanth is not just a mountain — it’s a spiritual summit. Its name means “Path of Truth,” and reaching the top is truly a test of mind, body, and belief. The route involves steep snow climbs, glacier crossings, and crevasse zones, making it a serious goal for experienced climbers.

Region: Uttarakhand (Gangotri Glacier)

2. Kalindi Khal Pass – 6,000 m

Regarded as one of the most challenging trekking passes in India, Kalindi Khal connects Gangotri to Badrinath via glacial fields, moraines, and high-altitude camps. A rare blend of pilgrimage and wilderness, this route takes you through the very heart of the Garhwal range.

Region: Uttarakhand

3. Black Peak (Kala Nag) – 6,387 m

Known for its stunning snow-covered ridgeline, Black Peak is the highest in the Bandarpunch range. This peak offers a great progression from trekking to technical mountaineering. It requires fixed rope climbs, glacier navigation, and offers phenomenal views from the summit.

Region: Uttarkashi

Duration: 16 days

Grade: Technical/Advanced

Black Peak Trek Itinerary

4. Kedar Dome – 6,831 m

Rising proudly near the sacred Kedarnath Temple, Kedar Dome is one of the more accessible 6,800+ peaks. Its spiritual importance and relatively less technical route make it a great high-altitude goal for climbers preparing for even bigger summits.

Region: Gangotri Glacier, Uttarakhand

Duration: 17 days

Grade: Moderate to Difficult

Highlights: Shivling views, spiritual energy, technical snow slopes

Kedar Dome Expedition

5. Bhagirathi Peaks – 6,512 m

This range of peaks is known for its challenging rock and ice climbs. Especially Bhagirathi III, which has steep ascents and complex crevasse zones. Ideal for climbers training for Himalayan giants.

Region: Gangotri Valley

Duration: 23 days

Grade: Advanced

Interesting Fact: Bhagirathi is believed to be the origin of the sacred Ganga river.

6. Shivling Peak – 6,543 m

Arguably one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, Shivling is a sacred and spiritual icon. Often called the “Matterhorn of India,” its perfect pyramid shape and technical difficulty make it a dream climb for many.

Region: Tapovan, Gangotri

Duration: 23 days

Grade: Highly Technical

7. Ranglana Peak – 5,554 m

Less known yet stunning, Ranglana is perfect for those wanting a serious peak without crowds. With glacial ascents, high camps, and commanding views of Swargarohini and Bandarpunch, this climb is both challenging and serene.

Region: Sankri Range, Uttarkashi

Duration: 20 days

Ideal For: Intermediate climbers

Ranglana Peak Expedition Itinerary

8. Bandarpunch Peak – 6,316 m

A peak steeped in mythology — it’s said to be the place where Hanuman extinguished his burning tail. Bandarpunch offers incredible glacial ascents, crevasse travel, and epic views.

Region: Govind National Park, Uttarakhand

Grade: Moderate to Technical

India’s second-highest peak (after Kangchenjunga within Indian territory), Mt. Kamet is a major Himalayan challenge. The climb involves multiple camps, technical terrain, and extreme weather — suitable only for elite climbers with high-altitude experience.

10. Nanda Ghunti – 6,309 m

This stunning peak marks the outer rim of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary and is often a preparatory expedition for Nanda Devi East. It offers steep snow ridges, incredible sunset views, and deep cultural reverence.
